Program Description
Alchemy Eye is a program that helps the networkadministrator to monitor servers in TCP/IP network.Alchemy Eye maintains a list of servers that will be checked repetedly.When server goes down, the program notifies the network administratorand writes a log file with server monitoring report.Alchemy Eye can monitor servers in common, pinging specified logical ornumeric IP address. The program also can check specific services such as HTTPor SMTP by opening/closing a socket at the specified address and port, andOracle servers by logging in/out to/from the database. Event notifications couldbe sent by e-mail, to WinPopup application (Windows 9x), Messenger service(Windows NT) or to ICQ pager, ordinary pager or mobile phone (SMS) via e-mailgateway.
